Specially developed by the engineering experts at Forge Motorsport for the Volkswagen Up! GTI and matching 1.0 TSI models, this comprehensive upgrade replaces the highly restrictive factory air box assembly. Given the compact dimensions of the VW Up! engine bay, finding an optimal intake routing presented a significant engineering challenge. After extensive prototyping and track-testing, our development team created a bespoke intake solution that optimizes space, aesthetics, and airflow delivery directly into the intake tract.

Bespoke Thermal Shielding & Pleated Foam Filtration

This premium cold air intake system features a custom aluminum housing finished in a durable, hard-wearing black powder coating for a discrete, factory look. This housing serves a dual purpose: it secures the air filter firmly in place while acting as a physical thermal shield that isolates the intake stream from ambient under-bonnet heat soak. The kit centers around a high-flow, multi-density pleated foam cone filter element manufactured in Great Britain by Pipercross. This washable and reusable filter increases surface area significantly, trapping airborne dirt effectively while delivering verified gains of 5 bhp and 6 lb/ft of torque on standard vehicles, with significantly higher gains expected on remapped cars.

Smooth-Bore Silicone Intake Hose Customization

Mated to the high-flow air box module is an oversized, custom-molded silicone intake hose that smooths out the airflow path right up to the inlet. To allow for personalization beneath the bonnet, this multi-ply reinforced hose compound is manufactured across three classic color choices: stealth Black, iconic performance Blue, or racing Red. All color configurations provide the exact same internal dimensions and structural resistance to vacuum collapse under heavy throttle load.

During installation, the factory plastic oil breather outlet tab must be carefully rotated into its new configuration. Please make sure not to over-tighten the filter hose clamp; the recommended torque limit is 2–2.4 Nm. Review the full guide before starting:
