Why Stock Location?

A common misconception is that a Front Mounted Intercooler (FMIC) is always superior. However, most FMIC installations for this platform are limited by the bumper beam, forcing the use of a core with a small front surface area. This often results in cooling capacity that is actually worse than the OEM intercooler.

The do88 performance intercooler utilizes the stock location but maximizes the available space, providing a surface area and core volume far superior to typical FMIC setups.

IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTES:

VW Golf MK6 (2008+): The stock fresh air hose to the air filter box will not fit due to the increased thickness of this intercooler.
Audi TT: Requires OEM pressure pipe part number 1K0145840R.
VW Eos, Scirocco, Jetta: If your vehicle has intercooler pipe part number 5C0145770, the outlet hose must be extended. Please contact us for guidance.
